This fall I got myself a fabulous gift, some gorgeous
clothing and fabric sent from Thailand.
I wanted something partly to celebrate almost being done with my dissertation, but
mostly as a reward to myself for finally starting to live a healthy
lifestyle. I’ve dropped about 30
pounds since June of this year and I’m feeling wonderful! Nothing like some new
clothes to inspire me to continue eating in moderation and staying active
(that’s all I did, I promise!)

A pretty cotton patchwork top and blue fisherman pants. It was kinda chilly so I put on a comfy sweater I had. The pants are beyond comfortable. The necklace is a gift from my mom.
About three months ago, my friend Lindsey (we met in
graduate school) who lives in Thailand graciously agreed to be my personal
shopper using some of the profits from my little Etsy store. Lindsey has a
travel blog with breathtaking photos, you must visit and be transported not only by the
images themselves but by her truly talented writing. I often go to her blog to
escape my giant laundry pile and immerse myself in another world. She also has a
very cool etsy shop called Lotus and Lace where she offers beautiful jewelry and photography (and soon clothing) inspired
by her travels.
I was blown away by the lovely stuff she sent me (Thank you Lindsey!!) and I thought
I’d share it with you to inspire you to add some color to your closet this
winter.

Beautiful sparkly pashmina as modeled by Elena
I love this pair of gaucho? type pants. They are a heavy
linen material with a tapestry trim and giant pocket.
Elena loves this pocket and thinks it should be required on all her pants from now on. I’d probably wear these with a simple tank top when it warms up. Although tomorrow the high is 77 so maybe tomorrow!
Trying to pose by this crepe myrtle tree. Elena is trying to actually eating dirt off camera. That is my quiet acceptance face.

The dress is mine from ages ago, but the floral chiffon top was one of my gifts!
I also got some gorgeous cotton Thai/Indonesian style sarongs. I love these patterns!

Guess what, chicken butt? I wanted this photo to be better but chickens kept pecking my toenails so I had to move!
This one has moons on it and a hypnotic pattern. I'm dying to wear this to toddler time at the library and see what the other mamas think.

The scarf is also from Thailand

I think this one is my favorite photo though.

Anyhoo I had a ton of fun during this mini photo shoot. Hope y'all enjoyed it and are going to go find some exotic prints for your wardrobes! Or maybe for your dogs and toddlers.

Well, these clothes are simply beautiful and you look absolutely fantastic in them. I've always thought you were a knock-out, though. :-) Chuckling at your "acceptance" face. Don't I know all about that.
ReplyDeleteThank you ::blush:: I'm loving these clothes in my closet now since highs have only topped into the 50s this week! But soon it will be warm again. And yes. more and more acceptance. I gotta make elena some pocket/gaucho pants! Just need to find the right material..
